Volunteer
The Boosters need your help! You can volunteer once or take on a more ongoing role. Please reach out to Amy Overby, Choir Booster President ([email protected]) with any questions or to discuss any of these roles in more detail.
Leadership help is wanted for the following roles:
Vice President-Fundraising
Executive Committee: Our primary focus for the Fall term is to identify candidates to replace the outgoing Executive Committee members for the role of President, Vice President and Secretary. Amy and Becky have graduating Seniors and will be stepping down at the end of the year. If you are interested in learning more about this rewarding way to participate in your student’s music education, please reach out to Stephanie Trump: [email protected], or Amy Overby: [email protected]
Our secondary focus is to find some parents who are good at coordinating projects and other important roles not on the Executive Committee, including the following:
Gertens Chair: Fall and Spring. Work with Gertens to receive and setup fundraising brochure and pricing. Set up tracking spreadsheet and finalize fundraiser flyer with AHS-specific information for distribution to choir. Once fundraising has finished, check orders for accuracy. Place order with Gertens. The day of pick-up, help with delivery and sorting. Process is the same for both Fall and Spring, just different plants.
Dine to Donate Chair: Fall and Spring. Contact and schedule restaurants that provide programs for high school student fundraising. We have good information about available restaurants, so the effort is minimal... but still very important for our program.
Concert Performance Chair: Concert Nights. Work with the Directors to handle “off stage” details of the concerts. Create Sign Up Genius to get volunteers for collecting donations, ushers and handing out programs. Before the concerts, be available to direct the volunteers. After the concert, coordinate clean up and give donations to an executive committee member or a director.
Robe Maintenance Chair: Ongoing. Mend robes when needed, zipper and seam repair. Coordinate annual dry cleaning.
Booster General Meeting Video Conference Chair: Ongoing. This is a new role. The Armstrong Parents Association has had good success with parent meeting attendance at their video meetings this spring. You will host Choir Booster general meetings using Zoom or other similar video conferencing service.
